In March 2025, we delivered six product releases that expand the capabilities of the Boxopay payment gateway. Key updates include five new payment provider integrations, refined compliance controls, and several improvements aimed at simplifying configuration and fraud monitoring.

Key highlights

New payment integrations

Cardaq integration

Boxopay now supports integration with Cardaq, a card payment provider offering single-step payment processing. The integration also includes test mode support and control over overdue payment logic, giving clients more flexibility during transaction setup and testing.

Xpate integration

Xpate, a European payment provider, has been integrated to support streamlined one-step card payments. This integration expands cross-border capabilities and gives clients more flexibility in choosing providers tailored to their regional and operational needs.

PashaBank integration

Boxopay now supports PashaBank for payment processing in Azerbaijan and nearby regions. The integration enables 3-D Secure flows and allows webhook customization via dedicated endpoints, ensuring smooth transaction completion and merchant redirection.

Paysera integration

Paysera has been integrated as a new payment provider supporting redirection-based payment flows. The integration enables merchants to offer seamless checkout experiences with branded buttons and dynamic routing. This option is especially relevant for clients operating in the Baltics and other regions where Paysera is widely used.

Quailpay integration

Support for Quailpay has been introduced, enabling one-step payment flows through this alternative provider. The integration helps diversify routing strategies and gives merchants additional options for processing card transactions in supported countries.

Risk and fraud control enhancements

More detailed decline reason handling

When working with providers such as PeachyPay and PunctualPay, Boxopay can now display raw error messages from the issuer as the visible decline reason. This allows for better transparency in payment troubleshooting and customer support.

Compliance and authentication updates

Enhanced precision in applying SCA exemptions within the EEA

The logic for Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) exemptions has been enhanced to allow more precise application within the European Economic Area (EEA). For example, administrators can define a custom list of EEA countries to ensure exemption logic complies with regional requirements and avoid applying exemptions in unsupported jurisdictions.

EMV 3DS 2.3.0 compatibility update

Support for EMV 3DS version 2.3.0 has been expanded to ensure full compliance with updated protocol requirements for browser-based payment flows. New configuration options allow administrators to meet provider-specific data expectations across environments.

User interface and localization improvements

New contract type filter in admin statistics

A contract type filter has been added to all key statistics tabs, allowing administrators to segment and analyze performance data more efficiently across contract models.

Minor updates and bug fixes

• The Decta connector now supports field-level customization of API payloads through project settings.
• Recurring transactions for Cartu Bank have been extended with additional reference fields.
• Added support for custom signature algorithms in the Azericard connector.
• Localized versions of the payment page now include Portuguese and Dutch.
• Admin interface now supports comments for blacklist entries.

We also introduced a range of backend improvements aimed at increasing overall system reliability. These fixes enhance the consistency of transaction processing, improve handling of 3‑D Secure flows, and ensure more accurate behavior across reconciliation, routing, and risk monitoring tools.
