In January 2025, we introduced several key updates to the Boxopay payment gateway, focusing on expanding integration options, improving reporting capabilities, and refining transaction processing. These enhancements are designed to give merchants greater flexibility, optimize operational workflows, and ensure a seamless payment experience.

Key highlights

WooCommerce integration for WordPress stores

Boxopay is excited to announce the release of our new WooCommerce plugin, enabling WordPress-based online stores to seamlessly accept payments through the Boxopay white-label payment gateway. This integration offers merchants a streamlined setup process, allowing them to manage transactions directly from their WooCommerce dashboard. With support for various payment methods, including major credit and debit cards, the plugin enhances the checkout experience for customers, leading to increased conversion rates.

New payment integrations

Boxopay now supports integrations with four additional payment providers, expanding coverage for merchants across different regions.

Arca integration

Arca is a blockchain-based payment network designed for secure and efficient digital transactions. This solution enables instant settlements and enhanced transparency for businesses adopting digital assets.

M10 integration

M10 is a digital ledger-based payment system designed for cross-border settlements and institutional transactions. This integration provides businesses with a more efficient and scalable solution for high-volume international payments.

PeachyPay integration

PeachyPay is a payment provider specializing in seamless online checkout experiences, particularly in the UK and European markets. This integration provides a smooth payment experience for e-commerce businesses.

PunctualPay integration

PunctualPay is a fast-growing payment provider focused on real-time transaction processing. Primarily serving businesses in North America and Europe, PunctualPay ensures secure and efficient payment flows.

Payment processing enhancements

Bereke Bank API update

Boxopay payment gateway has switched to Bereke Bank‘s updated API, enhancing transaction processing reliability and supporting new features available through the bank’s latest infrastructure.

Improved Merchant Advice Code processing

Boxopay has enhanced its support for Merchant Advice Codes (MACs), providing more detailed and accurate decline reasons. These improvements help businesses better understand failed transactions and take appropriate actions to reduce payment failures.

Funding transactions via Mastercard AFT

Boxopay has enhanced support for Mastercard Account Funding Transactions (AFT), allowing businesses to process funding transactions with greater flexibility. The system now also supports Universal Transaction Reference (UTR) values, improving traceability for AFT transactions. Additionally, businesses can pass detailed sender and recipient information via the API, ensuring compliance with Mastercard’s requirements for wallet top-ups, merchant settlements, and payout services. Default recipient details can also be configured, streamlining transaction processing and reducing integration complexity.

BNPL payments via Azericard

Boxopay now supports Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) payments through Azericard, enabling merchants to offer flexible installment plans to their customers. This credit option is aimed at improving conversion rates and increasing overall sales.

Merchant tools & customization

Online refunds via DECTA

Acquirers using DECTA for payment processing can now issue online refunds directly through the Boxopay platform via API. This new feature ensures faster fund returns to customers, enhancing the overall payment experience and customer satisfaction.

Enhanced image customization for payment pages

Merchants and administrators now have greater flexibility in customizing payment pages by setting images via URL. This allows for easier branding adjustments and dynamic content updates without requiring manual uploads, ensuring a more seamless and visually consistent checkout experience.

Rolling reserve accumulation limit

Administrators can now set a maximum limit on rolling reserve accumulation, helping businesses manage cash flow more effectively. The system provides clear visual indicators, making it easier to track reserve balances and ensure funds are allocated as planned.

Recurring & tokenized payments

Recurring payments for tokenized Mastercard cards

Recurring payments can now be processed through Boxopay end-to-end payment processing software for tokenized Mastercard cards.

Minor updates and bug fixes

• The export of operations now includes the cardholder’s email and name, simplifying payment analysis and customer interactions.
• GDPR data masking can now be configured for specific user roles in data exports, allowing more control over access to sensitive information.
• Orders can now be filtered by predefined groups of card-issuing countries, improving risk management and localized analysis.
• Limits on the number of transitions and the validity period of return URLs have been introduced, providing better control over the return process.

Stability and performance improvements also have been implemented to ensure a smoother experience for merchants. Enhancements in data processing and system accuracy contribute to more reliable transaction handling. Minor inconsistencies in reporting and API responses have also been addressed.
